Movie/Haircut/Waterslide

This morning we took advantage of Wehrenberg's FREE SUMMER MOVIES and saw the 10a.m. showing of "Barnyard". . .prior to leaving, the girls posed next to a coming attractions poster:

. . .and spent some time in the arcade:

Noticing how shaggy Taylor's hair was looking, we went to Snip-Its for some modifications to her 'do:

Here is Miss Tasha "IN ACTION" while Taylor sucks on a lollipop (it was the only thing that calmed her while in the chair with the cape draped on her):

Just before dusk we set up the Backyardigans slip-n-slide and although Peyton was hesitant at first, she quickly became a sliding pro:

Taylor had to hold her ground during this slide:

Happy 40th Panther

Although Panther does not turn 40 until June 22nd, Johnny B attempted to surprise her tonight with a lovely birthday celebration. It was wonderful to see people I have not seen in 2+ years! Even busy CFOs came out for tonight's event!

Chi Chi and a chic Senior V.P. partied with the Panther. . .

Kia helped Jack celebrate his Mommy's special age:
"Four Generations" of TM:

Uncle Eddie and Cousin Katie posed with Kia:

Here I am posing with Peyton & Taylor's "potential Mother-In-Laws" :-)

MAMMA MIA

No matter how many times I see Mamma Mia, it is awesome. Tonight we had a group of 12 enjoy a night out.

HOT AND SUNNY

We skipped right from Winter to Summer and it has been quite humid to make conditions even more drastic. I bought a cheap "animal playcenter" pool from Walmart and it was worth every penny. Did I mention it was cheap and has already begun leaking air ? :-)

This girl knows exactly what to do and say when a camera is near:

Daddy hopped in the pool for a quick pose:

Taylor crowned her Daddy. . .

. . .and then had second thoughts on the color of the coronation:

Hugs to the inflatable dolphin:

Naptime, Mass and dinner revived them:

"Come on Taylor. Sit still. . ."

DINING OUT

Yesterday we had a luncheon with Miss Moshi & her Mommy. As usual, Peyton and Mrs. M* counted, sorted, and ate M&Ms. Here is a picture of them during their "M&M session":

Tonight, the equation was "RAINY FRIDAY + DADDY'S POKER NIGHT = CHUCK E CHEESE"

Taylor is quite the driver. . .

Nothing Sits Like A Deere

Of all the toys around our home these days, there is only one place the girls like to "play" and that is sitting on Daddy's John Deere.

Peyton was nice enough to let her friend Audrey test it out:

Happy Birthday Peyton

Peyton turned 3 today and she began her special day by receiving a Dora the Explorer bike (assembled with love by Daddy). As soon as she entered our room, it was there to give her a true birthday greeting:

She was half asleep but knew exactly what Daddy half-wrapped. . .

She was very considered about her image.....as soon as we got outside she said "Mommy, I have a Dora bike but an ELMO helmet". . .I hinted that she MIGHT be getting Dora accessories at her party tonight which calmed her immensely. With her first full pedal she exclaimed "Oh Mommy, this is like a dream come true!"

Nap time was strictly for Taylor today. Peyton was way too anxious for her party. . .so she played quietly in her room for a couple hours, eagerly awaiting party time. The party began at 6p.m. so we got there at 5:30 to meet with our helper. Peyton entered Chuck E. Cheese like a 3 year old READY TO PARTY!

Dancing was one of her favorite parts of the event:

Dinner was served once parents corralled all the kids:

Taylor inspected the centerpiece:

The cake was white with buttercream frosting and Disney princess decoration:

Brendan blinked but Peyton managed to blow out the final candle with one final huff and puff:

Delicious!

Aunt Tina supplied the SUGARY cotton candy for babies of all ages:

Following bath time, Peyton decided to sleep with her new Cinderella:

TOUR DE FUN

The sun was shining today and wow, was it ever hot! Hundreds of families came out to enjoy the 18th annual Tour De Fun. We did our best to stay cool by drinking lots of coll beverages and finding a shady picnic table for lunch. Daddy and Peyton wasted no time in finding the Lowe's craft table, where Peyton constructed a planter box:

Taylor ate a ripe banana which she received at the Whole Foods tent:

Is she a future drummer????

...or will she be a dancing queen?

Daddy taught Peyton all about holding her hands in the air if she was not afraid of the ride last year and looks like she remembered his advice:

Taylor enjoyed the frozen Icee sticks. . .

. . .and the BUBBLES:

Peyton was a natural on the pony ride:

We all piled in for the "trackless train" excursion:

Before we left, Peyton stopped to look at the helicopter which landed during the event:

POOL & DIEGO

This morning we spent a couple hours at the pool and upon our return home, Great Granny delivered the girls 4 tickets to see "Go Diego Go LIVE" at the Fox Theatre. Upon entering the Fox Club door, each of the girls received a baby jaguar mask. Peyton quickly struck a pose:

Little Taylor could not quite get her eyes through the eye holes. . .but it appears that her nose stuck through:

I have this EXACT pose (from the same exact seat) of Myrth from when I took her to see Beauty & the Beast 8 years ago:

Needless to say, one of Peyton's favorite numbers was the Dora introduction:

Daddy & Peyton admired the beauty of the Fabulous Fox from our seats:

This was BY FAR Taylor's favorite number. I can say this because she was seated on my lap and she babbled along (trying her best to sing) and bounced her feet to the beat.

KIA'S BIRDIE UPDATE & THANKS AUNTIE BUBBIE

Kia's birdies are out of their nest and ready to join the ranks of big birds. . .except for this frightened one:

. . .so tiny:

Today during nap time the doorbell rang and I wrongly assumed it was our neighbor Abby wanting to know if she could play with Sandy. To my surprise, it was the UPS guy delivering an early b-day present to Miss Peyton. As soon as Peyton woke up, she saw the package and opened it. Within seconds she was proudly wearing her new nightgown and headband:

Here is her salute/acknowledgement to Auntie Bubbie:
